Practical Finance Training · for businesses
Custom training apps

Your workflow, turned into training your staff actually finish.

When someone leaves, a new starter joins or a system changes, the know-how usually sits in one person's head or in a long procedure document nobody reads. I turn the way your business works into a short interactive app with plain-English lessons, your own documents as examples, practice with instant feedback and a sign-off record.

Built by a CPA with 15+ years in finance across Australia and New Zealand.

Usually today
  • A 38-page procedure document, last updated years ago
  • One person who knows all the exceptions
  • New starters learn by making mistakes on live data
↓ turned into
A training app
  • Five short lessons, about 25 minutes
  • Your own rules and limits built into every question
  • A completion and sign-off record for each person
Working example

Onboarding a new accounts payable officer

This is a complete sample module built for a fictional joinery business. Work through it as a new starter would: learn the bill workflow, check a real-looking bill, handle a payment-fraud email and finish with a sign-off.

Harbour Joinery and all figures here are made up. Your app would use your own workflow, approval limits, systems and documents.

How it works

Three steps from your workflow to trained staff

Each project follows the same path. You stay in control of the content, and nothing is released to staff until you have reviewed it.

Step 1

Define the workflow

You provide
Time with the person who does the job now, your existing procedures, and sample documents (figures can be masked).
I do
Map the steps, approval limits, exceptions and common mistakes, then agree the map with you. Where the process itself has gaps, I suggest fixes before anything is taught.
Step 2

Build the training

You get
Short lessons, worked examples from your own documents, practice questions and scenarios based on mistakes that have actually happened.
You check
A review round on the draft app before it goes to staff.
Step 3

Train and hand over

Delivery
I run the first session online or on site. Staff then work through it at their own pace on a computer or phone.
Afterwards
You keep completion records and editable files, so the training can be updated when the process changes.

Pricing

Every project is quoted on its own. The price depends on how many workflows are covered, how much is customised and whether you want live sessions.

After an initial meeting you receive a fixed quote before any work starts.

Looking for the ready-made option instead? The Bookkeeping with Xero course is sold one module at a time.
